 |  Unanswered: dana 60 question did the dana 60 ever come as a fulltime 4wd axle or did it always have selectable hubs? i found a crew cab long box 1979 4x4 chevy the add says, it has 1 ton Dana 60 Axles, The truck used to be full time 4 wheel drive I put Mile Marker hubs on it and you can shift in and out. it shouldnt have a 60 rear for being a 79, and i didnt know if 60 fronts ever came with full time 4wd. if they did this truck is a good deal but to me it just sounds like the guy doesnt know whats in his truck. | |||||||||||

 | I thought that "full time 4x4" referred to the transfer case? Unless the axle has slugs its "selectable".

| no there are some that had the electric locking hubs (or something like that) they didnt have selectable hubs, just not sure if they made any 60's like that | |||||||||||

 | I googled full time dana 60 and this is one of the things that i came up with most of the stuff that i seen pertained to dodge but they did make full time d60s with a 203 case that where pass side drop that would be identical to a chevy so i imagine its possible. But even hubs like the "automatic" hubs on the 10b that came on my Burb unlock, they just do it "automatically". I didn't have to get out to engage them, just put the T case in 4wd. I guess my point is that if they can unlock, and the hubs are disengaged from the axles, they are not fulltime 4wd.

| the guy sent me an email saying that it has the original axles under it so "he" didnt swap in something else. says he will get me some pics tomorrow of the axles. | |||||||||||
