So I heard a grinding noise in my rear end about a week ago and just parked it thinking in a few days i would tear into it. At first I thought it was a rear ujoint which after I bout them I found out it wasn't them so I wanted to check the oil level in rear end since I drove a long way to get it home so i pulled the drain plug and out came a gush of a mixture of oil and water..... Since I have neither wheeled this rig nor have I put it through any form of water my only guess is someone has before I owned it. So looks like the first thing I am gonna learn is how to swap a axle. I found a set of 3/4 ton for 250.00 out of a I believe 75 or 78 Blazer within about 65 miles of me so I will be starting with this and eventually going to one ton's I am gonna start out with smaller axles in the beginning on for the cost and two I need to fix as fast and as cheap as possible so I can still drive to work. So for my First project I will swap a axle (which I have never done before) and this should be a good learning experience for setting up for a 1 ton swap later.
