im thinking of spending my stimulus check on a new pistol.

anyone have any suggestions?

im thinking of a XD 40 S&W since you can change the barrel out to a 9mm, 40, or 357.

Those always sound cool, but I've never shot one. Personally I like HK pistols, especially the USP in .45 which fits my hand like a glove.

I just picked up a subcompact XD in .40. I've shot one before and loved it. I was pretty accurate with it as well. I have a strong bias against glocks, as the one I owned was uncomfortable as all hell after a few rounds, and felt like a cheap POS. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn either (probably stemmed from being uncomfortable). A 1911 is always a good choice, but they are usually very heavy...but the single stack mag makes them slimmer and more comfortable to wear. Our Ruger .45 FTF at least once every other mag...wouldn't recommend that.

I don't have much experience with the higher end handguns. But, if you buy an XD and a box of ammo, you'll have money left over to pay back what you're going to owe on your stimulus check next year.

Which one will you use more? I think the tubing, but I have always wanted a gun, so it's a tie.

I'm guessing that he already has a pistol or 5.
