Good morning. I am a new member of 4x4 mecca from SOCAL. I used to have an 1984 K20 Longbed that was stolen over a year ago. I have just purchased a m1008 5/4 ton truck from Government Liquidations.com. I am now in the process of submitting the end user certificate so that I can go and pick it up in Barstow, CA. I usually wheel in Glamis and Azusa Canyon. I plan on doing more wheeling once my truck is up and running. So right it is a waiting game to pick up the truck. The truck has a Dana 60 and 14 ff with 4.56's and a locker in the rear. What more can you ask for when you pay only 1200.00. The Dana 60 in the front can go for as much as that. So i think that I got a good deal and with the 6.2 diesel stock, I can get away with swapping out a bbc 454 in it. But the plan for this truck is 44's a huge lift and muddin til the wheels fall off of it. But that is my introduction. Good luck to all with their builds, daily drivers, and etc. Steve Navarro, Riverside CA.

Welcome Aboard! Sounds like you got a great deal if its in runnin condition. I paid $1000 for one that didn't have a chance just for the axles and some misc. stuff.

:welcome: :bananawave: I have a ex-military K5 and have swapped axles out. Kinda wish I started with a M1008 like you did. I'll have more than $1200 into my axles with a Detroit in the rear easily.

Post up some pics along with the condition of the truck when you can.
