| The family and B_to_C camped out at Camp Dick near the trailhead of Middle St Vrain, but that trail was still closed. The first night was supremely cold. But the rest of the weather was great. We met up with GMCJason and his friend Kevin to do a little wheelin. Since Middle St Vrain is closed we ran down Bunce School Road and took a couple of the spurs. The first spur was to the T-33A plane crash. The trail was much further than it looked on the map. By the time we got to the end and ate lunch, we didn't feel much like hiking to the plane crash. So we didn't see the actual wreckage. Next we headed up to the Ironclads spur. It was a pretty fun little loop. Saturday we didn't run the 216A loop, but B_to_C and I went back to check it out Sunday. It was a lot more challenging than the rest. I'd definitely like to go back and run that again. Through a series of circumstances we only had the General and it was tough enough that the family vacated the truck and I decided to turn around. No sense getting carried away with a "new" truck and no easy method of recovery available. Here are some videos I put together: | |||||||||||

| We were joking about how we'd have to winch his truck all the way up there just to get me winched out! Would have been a long day.216A is what they call PlayHill. It was a steep climb with loose soil, rocks, and tree roots. A locker would have definitely helped. | |||||||||||

| The deal is.... wait for it... I'm REALLY REALLY POOR. I literally have 1 package of Ramen and a jar of peanut butter left to get me through to payday (Friday). -Thank god I work in a deli- I'm saving what little credit I have left on my credit card to pay for summer classes ![]() Fortunately I should be getting a promotion (and pay raise) by the end of the month ![]()
