| Just along for the ride.. | I know there's tons dedicated to broke down built up wheelers but what else does everyone have that breaks down every so often? Here's my story for the day: LT, myself and our friend Dean take off over the Grand Mesa for what should be a 3 hour tour (heard this one before?). Going up the north side of the Mesa, my bike-AKA The Thermonuclear Cupcake, starts spitting and sputtering and dies right in the road. So I pull over with little to no shoulder room. LT and Dean turn around, they thought I threw in the towel but in all reality it was the cupcake. So they notice I am missing the screw off the clutch lever-still pivots and engages but could potentially give out. And also the bike seems vapor locked. So we wait for a bit, try to start, and it's trying to turn over but it just won't fire. So we get the bikes turned downhill to a better pull off and LT babies it the whole way. I'm riding Dean's ZX6 which has considerable higher pegs with the worst cramp in my hip. We get to a better stopping place, take off most of the plastic, the gas tank and all to get to the guts. In the end, they decide the fuel pump has died. They bypass the pump and it seems to want to run but it's way low on power and you gotta keep the RPM's way high. We made it to the top and stop for lunch at 2:00-we left at 10:30. It's still running really bad and there's some moto-heads at this place so they all help Don get it going again. We eat, go start up and it's running even worse than before. Dink with it, says lots of cuss words, sweat alot, finally, we think we have it going at least. I killed it one time taking off from a stop before starting at 4500 RPM is just not kosher. As we come off the Mesa on the south side, lower in altitude it runs better but still spurty at 6500 RPM. We stop at the folks house, it's now 4:00. We BS and think we're OK to make it home. Well with the bypass, the fuel has to be shut off when it's not running. Guess what idiot forgot to turn the fuel back on-yep ME. Whoops. |

| Just along for the ride.. | Yep, I'll probably be relegated to driving on 4 wheels again. Unless by some miracle there's one in town for a better price than the internet. |

| Frite poiken | Sounds like it was fun, and sucked, all in the same day. What would we bitch about if it weren't for motorized vehicles?

| Just along for the ride.. | Thanks to LT sweating in the garage all day, the Cupcake is back up and running. We did a little research and found that a universal fuel pump would work just fine on a motorcycle and about 1/3 the price as an OEM for my bike. Thank you Honey!!! |

| Super Moderator | Sounds like it's time for another rode trip so you can make sure it's all running good. At least you have a good excuse anyway. ![]() It rained on us yesterday wheeling and today on the drive home. I agree, it felt damn good.

| Just along for the ride.. | I am not sure if we'll be able to go this weekend. Uncle Noel will be at Mom and Dad's and we're going there Friday night for a wheeling trip Saturday. If it wasn't for the dog, we could ride down Friday. |

| Mrs. VegasBruce | I know that my bike is doing fine. Bruce and I went for a ride yesterday before I went to work. I worked for a few hours yesterday to cover, so the boss didn't have to come in. It was really slow so I left early, since I was on O/T Glad to hear that LT was able to fix Cupcake. I know how it feels to have a broken motorcycle.
