I've been going to the park in Gilbert for some time. Great place to wheel. They have everything from bunny trails to a muddy play area to a trail called 1%...meaning less than 1% of the rigs that enter the park are set up to tackle the trail.

There are also a few new trails that we've put together that haven't hit the map yet. High voltage will test your rig's ability to articulate and then force you to power up a log hill to get out. Mossy rocks has not yet been conquered by a vehicle without winching. A four wheel steer buggy on 49's and mogs couldn't even get through without assistance.

All in all, it's a fun area to go and play around in. It'll definitely keep you busy for a weekend and I've been back quite a few times and have yet to get bored. Be warned though, this is northern Minnesota and body damage due to trees is highly likely.

The main campground is about a mile from the park. However, there is a road between the park and campground specially constructed so that you can drive between the two even in non street legal rigs. It's a very convenient arrangement and drinking is allowed at the campground.

There are a ridiculous number of things to do up there. It's a state run park so it's kept very clean but there can be absolutely no alcohol. Also, your vehicle must pass a sound test but it's very subjective so even if you have a loud rig you can probably get away with it. They're supposed to hold the microphone 3 ft. from your exhaust tip and have you rev it "halfway to redline". I lost my muffler on a previous trip and I revved it to a whopping 1500 RPM's and explained that the motor was really doggy and just cut out at around 3k. She signed off and away we went.
