Since 70jimmy wrote such a good summary elsewhere, I'll just copy it below and add the pics and video:

Those attending were fred2mihi with mrk5 riding shotgun, 3 on the tree, and 70jimmy. Instead of Gunnison we met in Delta and went up the uncompahgre plateau. Some neat side trails with good sights over some canyons and some snow romping. Then it was back to the main road and further up the plateau. Started getting into some drifts that tried to suck you into the ditch. One was successful at snagging 3 on the tree. 70jimmy tried to pull him backwards but he only got in deeper.

Fred2mihi then got turned around in the deep stuff and came back to pull 3 on the tree from the front. It was an uphill grade and Fred soon found out that his front locker was MIA. So I backed up and hooked up to 3 on the tree. After a few pretty good snaps of the strap and some throttle action from the 429 in the bronco 3 on the tree was free. We decided this was far enough in the snow and headed back down for some side road action.

After exploring some goat trails that led to nowhere it was back toward Delta. Then Fred led the pack up Alkali Basin. A rocky trail that cuts from Hwy 50 thru the adobes and some rocky land back to the east. We went about as far as we dared with the weather conditions. Those rocks get slick with some snow on them.

Even though Fred was limited to 2 wheel drive he went places I couldn't go without engaging the front axle. After conceding to Fred's driving prowess we got turned around and headed back to Delta for a late lunch.

Fun day, too bad we couldn't play more in the deep snow but I think if we tried there still may be a truck or two up there.

Thanks to 3 on the tree for driving down in far less than desireable conditions, and to Fred for leading the way most of the day, and to mrk5 for making the drive over from the other side of the state. We will definately do it again.

Now start harassing for them pics and video!!!!!!!!!!

There's no sound to these videos because I used my digital still camera.

I was feeling pretty good about the mud i got on the burb this weekend but that looked like way more fun. I wish we got snow that would actually stick around.
