Default Th700/np208 swap

Now the th700/np208 is mounted in my truck with some minor problem nothing difficult (friend of mine showed with a case of beer and everything became easy).
Did some upgrades, i used the supportrod from the np208 to the front of the th700 (i think this rod was only used on the early th700 that had weaker casing and i use a later th700 with bigger casing also known as K-casing) i used the rear crossmember and the transfer protectionplate from the th350/np203 (donīt think i seen one on later blazer).
And yes the pictures first one on the crossmembers and the transferprotectionplate second one on the hybrid u-joint in place and last one just a picture of the th700 from inside the truck.
next to figure out will be the floorshifter to the h/l/4wd (i have floorplate and the newer shifter but i donīt like it, i like the looks of the oldstyle shifter better).

Default First test of the th700

YEEEES!!! today after working night the hole weekend (working as a processoperator in a chemical plant) i could fill up the transmission with transmissionfluid and fire my baby up, little nervous gently put in rev and the tranny firmly got in to rev, put through n and to drive ..little rough when going into drive but became smother after a while (maybe the cluthplates where a little dry on the surface)....

Default Half success

This morning i could do the roadtest and ended up with a tranny that did not upshift from first gear and no overrunbrake ....... but hey i´m not dumber than a transmission so i could figure out that the governor were "binding" kvick change of governor and the tranny upshifted 1-2-3 but no 4:th and very late shiftpoints (perfect dragracing tranny upshift at 3500 rpm), so the rest of my day was pretty much "trying to think but nothing happens" so this called for drastic things ... BEER!!!!
And pictures ... wanted to speed things up so i used the newer style floorshifter but i still dont like the looks of it, and we got snow i sweden.

Default Near success

Done some roadtests today and after some "fiddeling" with the t.v. cable i realised that the t.v. valve in the valvebody was binding and did not go under half throttle position, after some work with the t.v. cable the valve started to move and now i have 1-2-3 upshift (very light throttle 900 rpm, "cruise" throttle 1200-1400 rpm and all the way up to full throttle 3500-4000 rpm) so the tranny upshift very nice but still no 4:th gear (think that the 4:th valve in the valvebody is stuck and does not move).
I also checked the transtemp and after 2 hour drive/playing in the snow i got 70-75 degres celsuis in the tranny (158-167 F) think that this is ok, anybody that knows if it is???

Default close to success

After some hours of dissasembly, cleaning valvebody, checking if all valves move and reassembly it was time for another roadtest and tranny upshift 1-2-3-4 (YEEEEES) but no lockup, i can force the converter into lockup so converter is ok, only two things can cause this (pressure swith or the temp switch) so this will be the next thing to fix and hopefully i have bought a tempgage and can weld the sender unit in the oilpan when i take it down.
Itīs really nice to cruise my baby in fourth gear (45-50mph@900rpm)....

Default My baby is getting better!!!!!!!!

All troubles with the tranny are solved (broken temp switch and with the oilpan down i welded in the temp sender unit and wired in the trans.temp.gauge), and today after i overhauled the alternator (hade some minor charging issues) i drove up to the old lake and my baby performed like a champ, i love her more every day that passes.......

First picture i tested my new cellphonecamera (pretty god quality on the pictures i think), and second one is the tyres i planning on buying (kumho venture kl71 .. anyone tryed them?????).......

Mery christmas to all of you out there /Ojje

Your Blazer looks great. I have never even heard of those tires, but they have a very agressive tread and look cool.
