I'm a millwright in a pulp & paper mill. A millwright is a mechanic for the big stuff. "A jack of all trades and a master of none" We pretty much do anything/everything... It can be hard but at least it isn't boring...

I have alway thought of a millwright as Master Tinkerer, look at all of the equipment you have to keep running!

How deep do you get into the precision machines? mills, lathes, etc.

I have set up a new lathe installation before. And I rebuilt the spindle on another.

Cool. getting them level and true can be a pain.
I used to repair and rebuild machines (mills, lathes, presses, brakes etc.) around our Metro area. I got into scraping ways for a couple of years. Man is that time consuming.
