I work in an E.R. here in Boise.

The official title I have is Clinic Assistant Personnel (The equivalent to an E.M.T.). I work side by side with the nurses.

I've been in emergency care going on twenty years.


When a violent drunk or drugged up person comes in, I'm usually point-man when dealing with them.
When they see a 6'-1", 270lb Neanderthal smiling at them, it usually gets their mind right !

I draw blood, do E.K.G.'s, clean and dress wounds, do triage work, help hold patient during procedures, provide visual security.

I also do chest compressions during codes, provide comic-relief for the child-patients , and last but not least; I drive my liberal co-workers crazy with my conservative viewpoints !
