Kids will cure you of that. especially kids on antibiotics. I am completely desensitized at this point.

The smell of someone with colon cancer is way worse than antibiotics. I guess you get used to it after awhile. You just think about something else and breath very shallow. I could tell all sorts of poop stories from when I worked as a CNA at a nursing home but probably better leave out gorey details!

Remember, you're gutting a basically healthy animal. Things get bad with humans when there is disease involved. And if there was no disease, you wouldn't be seeing them in your workplace. That's the sad reality of nursing is that you don't see people at their best, you seen them at less than best. You'll make good money in nursing and can get a job anywhere as long as your license is clean. But there is a lot of mental stress from the job that you'll have to learn to live with. Knowing how badly you want kids, I'd recommend you stay away from pediatrics too, that's a very heart breaking unit.

I dont care for pediatrics. I have watched enough ER to know I dont want to do that. As far as stress with the job, I think I can pretty much handle anything. I think getting shot at and mortared while working on an aircraft is just about as much stress as you can throw at someone. I was looking at working in an ER, private office or doing forensic nursing.

I have an Aunt who's been an ER nurse for many many years and she loves it. She is also a teacher of BLS. She is a traveling nurse and loves that too. She lives in Hawaii, but works in many many different places. Pick something that you love. Go into different areas and then choose from there. As much as I love kids and was a MA for a pediatrics office, I'd always choose to work with kids. They really do being so much joy into my life.

I don't see whats so stressful about it. Get out the lawn chair and a clod one and watch the fire works. I think that if i were the pilot flying that aircraft after i worked on it under that kind of pressure i would rather take my chances on foot.
