I am a Supply Technician with the VA Hospital in Long Beach CA. I keep account of all the Equipment the VA buys and enter them in our inventory track ing system. It is a pretty cool job. I'll probably stay here until I retire. Nothing like working for the Federal Government.

Doesn't Mrs. Filo do something similar or was that just clerical?

Nope, Hubby does, he fixes military machinary, he's a federal technician. I had a state clerical job for the National Guard.

So there was a while there where both of us came home with bruises on our foreheads from beating them against "the wall".

I couldn't work for the VA regardless of how much they paid and how good the benefits, no offense 1ton, but I would end up beating some stupid person to death.

Hey Steve, are you a "technician"? Like GS or WG. (For the rest of you, General Schedule and Wage Grade are 2 of the pay scales that "the Government" uses.)
Sounds like a cool job.

GS-The VA isn't bad. I don't work with patients, which is good. I hang out in our office and push a pencil.
